I am always excited to hear my students perform material from my lessons. It's very rewarding to me, and I'm very thankful for anyone who sends me clips of themselves playing something they learned from me.
This time, I want to share with you two clips by Esteban from Barcelona. He is playing the 24 blues licks I teach in the Bar Blues 1 lesson.
Esteban sounds great, don't you think? I want to point out something here as well. The Bar Blues 1 lesson has 24 licks that you can pick and choose from, and that's what Esteban has done. He is not playing the licks in the same order as I did in my demonstration video, and it still sounds great. It should give an idea of how you can use these licks that I teach in this lesson. Just changing the order of licks around almost makes it sound like a whole new solo.
Note that there are 2 versions - one where he uses an overdriven blues guitar tone, and one where he uses a clean, jazzier tone. Both sound great!
Thanks so much for sharing, Esteban!
One more thing - if YOU want to be featured on my site like this, please send me any clips of yourself performing something from a lesson of mine. I will then post in my website. Thanks a lot!
I find so much information on your site that it is impossible to go through it all.
While working with a number of Jazz musicians, I am still very active in attempting to improve my technique and use a number of different books for chords and scale work. i am also trying to improve my reading skills after 50 years of ear work.
Thanks for your relentless efforts on line. i will be supporting you with a donation in the next few days and also be asking a couple questions with that donation.
I'm just wondering if you've made any training videos about programming an HD500 - If you have I'd love to buy it from you. You've got some great stuff here!Comment added on October 27, 2012
