Get Close by Student

One of my students, Frans, sent me another audio clip of him playing a lesson, this time, the lesson Get Close. It sounds great! The timing is great, and it flows nicely. Perhaps you have noticed how we as players often change things around to fit them into our own playing? That is a GOOD thing! I copy licks note for note sometimes, but I end up changing them around to fit my style and my approach. Copying (and changing around what you copied) is one of the best ways to learn, and you can do that same thing with any of my lessons.

Have a listen to Frans playing this solo. He plays it very well, I have to say. Thank you, Frans!

Remember that I also teach one-on-one via webcam lessons, in case you are interesting in learning from me directly, in real time. I do cover a wide range of styles; country, rock, blues, jazz, funk, improvisation, scales, modes, technique, harmony, ear training, etc. Just let me know what you are after, and I'll help you out.

By the way, if you have a clip of yourself playing anything from what I've been teaching on my website, do send it in and I will get you featured on this website. Thanks!

Here you can find more information about the 12 bar solo Get Close. It's a fun little solo! My students all enjoy this one a lot.

Teaching your students on how to play a guitar is some tough of hard task most especially if the student you are teaching is not attentive and don’t have a desire to learn what you are teaching. Guitar teaching needs enough patients and has the eye to eye to contact to the students.
