Hell Guitars is a new brand of guitars currently being launched. I have been lucky enough to get my hands on a prototype, and I am liking what I'm seeing and playing. The model I have here is called the No. 2 and it is a Telecaster style guitar. I have taken some photos of it so you can have a closer look.
I am honestly quite stunned how it good sounds. I love the feel of it, but the TONE - it's wicked good.
The guitar features Bare Knuckle pickups, Grover tuners and very good bridge. The neck is very comfortable and the fretboard radius is quite flat, so it has a "modern" feel to it.
The frets are medium to thin; not quite vintage thin though. At first, I thought they were on the small/thin side, but after 30 minutes of playing, I started to really like the feel of the frets. They are nicely polished and the set up is just about perfect.
My first reaction after playing this guitar through my amps is that I have very few guitars that can compete in tone. In fact, I told the builder that I feel only my Suhr Classic can compare. Yes, that is how good I feel this guitar sounds. It rings very clear all over the neck, and it can go from twang to jazz to blues to rock, and anything in between.
I have recorded a demo for you, so you can hear what it sounds like through a Marshall JVM410 on the Crunch channel (orange mode) - no pedals used. I used an Avatar 2x12 cabinet with Eminence Wizard speakers. Keep an eye out for more videos of high gain and more rock tones.
For more information, go to Hell Guitars.
Check out these videos I made with this sweet sounding guitar.

I see you have tested 3 of the hell guitars.Do they say wich bare knuckle pickups they use in each guitar or just leave you guessing? I ask because I enjoy building my own guitars. Wich guitar is the most well rounded?
Comment added on May 27, 2011Robert you are the man, and a honest man. If you say the guitar is good, then im sure that it is. I learned a bunch through the way you teach. Thank you.
Gregory.
You can also tell the manufacturer that many of my friends WILL seriously consider buying this guitar precisely because of the name. It's a name that will make a good guitar better. ;-}
Comment added on May 03, 2011There will be a "conversion kit" available - a decal with the letter "O" so you can add it at the end. "HELLO" is a friendlier name. :)
Comment added on April 18, 2011Here is what you can tell the manufacturer...Myself and I'm sure some others will not but this guitar because of the name. I don't care how good it is...Mike
