I hear a lot of buzz about the new MXR Carbon Copy Delay pedal. It is a basic analog delay pedal which apparently sounds very good.
It is true bypass, and it doesn't take up much real estate on your pedal board. Reports say this pedal is also very quiet.
It has 600ms of delay time, with optional modulation. This really cool. The knobs are
The size of the pedal is like the well known Phase 90. It uses 9-volt operation and the LED shines purdy blue.
This is a pedal to check out, if you are looking for an analog, true bybass delay pedal without much noise.

As you know Robert, I received this pedal for Christmas and really love it. It is my first real delay, and I am very happy with it. I think it sounds great!
Comment added on January 21, 2009to todd or robert, you can change the modulation by unscrewing the back and with a very small flathead screwdriver change the modulation to be less subtle. mine are all the way up and it is a noticible difference to me. and btw it runs on power supplys or batteries.
Comment added on November 01, 2008Hey, can this actually run off a power supply or is it only batteries? I've heard great things about it but I'm put off if it's only batteries. Anybody know?
Comment added on June 19, 2008Robert - I've got this pedal on my gig board and it's great - I've only had it a short time, but it sounds FANTASTIC - the modulation is very subtle and in the context of a live band mix, it might as well not even be on the pedal (from the perspective of my ears) - that said, I love this pedal - sounds great - punchy, warm, wonderful. Buy yourself one, you'll be happy you did.
Comment added on April 16, 2008It's funny because I meet a lot of players who don't like MXR stuff. I had an old Distortion+ that I drug out on the road for 15 years, never had a problem-very durable. Currently, I use a DynaComp which is about as basic as it gets for a compressor but, surprisingly versatile.
I'm going to check out the delay because I'm not all that happy with the Boss I bought a few months back. Any pedal that truly does have true bypass is a step ahead to start with, in my book.
