Now that I have this CVR, time to hunt for a smaller (all tube) amp since I gave up my VCXD for this one. I have a barganing chip of sorts. I'm thinkin' PRRI.

Guitar Center had the Epiphone Valve Jr. on sale last week for $70 new.  5 Watt simple control tube amp.  I serious thought about getting one, but I don't need it.

They're ok, but not my cup-o-tea. I'd like to get my hands on an Allen amps Chihuahua (1x10 version).

A friend of mine who made my 23 Watt amp, just completed his latest amp design.  We've dubbed it the overkill.   Check it out here,

he likes the tone of it.  I'm waiting to see what kind of cabinet does he put it in.  Having the speaker inputs on the side seems like an interesting choice....

UPDATE~Well, I wound up with a DRRI instead. It's just as heavy as the CVR though. Who'd ever guess I'd start this journey with a VCXD? I know I didn't. Imagine that.... a DRRI for $170! No complaints here! ::)

I don't think there's any need for guilt. The guy probably know what his amp's worth but just don't want it any more. If there's two happy fellas after the trade then it's all good.
