My HrDx has tons of clean headroom and is extremely loud for a 1x12. I recommend them highly. It also takes pedals nicely.

I love the Hod Rod Deluxe.  I don't love the high price tag.  Fender brought out a new edition and you'd think the previous models would go down in price, not up.  I'd love to have one of those.  I've looked at them, tried them, looked for used deals, and nothing.  The lead guitarist plays through one in the band.

Yeah they're pricey, and from what some say you're better off with the original model, can't seem to remember why though. I got mine in a trade for some work and was pretty fortunate. Over the years I've had a lot of nice amps, had a Vox Super Beatle, crazy amp with the chrome frame and tiltable cab, wheels , spring reverb, balanced speaker jacks ... was playing bass at the time and traded it for an acoustic 140 bass head. Anyway, good luck with the Peavey :)

The original HDDX was American Made.  The newer ones are made in Mexico.
