I've owned a Bugera V22 for 9 months now. The first one I got had the infamous random channel switching problem which has been well domumented on-line. Sent it back and got another under warranty. I has not had any problems to date.
After patiently trying to find "my sounds" now I must say that I don't care much for the amp. I had hoped that I could use it as a stand alone amp w/ no effects pedals, but here's what I dislike about it: I can get a good sound on the clean channel and I can get a good sound on the drive channel, but I cannot get a good sound on both using the same eq setting. This means I can't use the clean for rhythm and then switch on-the-fly to the drive channel for solos.
The clean channel tends to be dark and needs high treble settings and low bass settings. With these settings the drive channel has ear piercing highs and sounds "fizzy". Dial in a good drive channel eq setting and the clean channel sounds muddy. The amp either needs separate eq's or different eq tone stacks more suited to both channels.
I can get around the problem by using effects pedals, but it's awkward to use in a gig....too much continual tweaking.
My advice is to take the $350 , save another $300-$350 and buy a better amp. YOMV
I've since switched to a Peavey Valveking 112. It has seperate clean/lead tone controls and volume. Plus it has a volume/gain boost if needed (both of which I don't use). Reverb is good too. Most of my tone controls are set the same for both channels, but there is the ability to switch it up as needed. Here's the best part. The amp was used at $200. New the amp is over $400. Not bad. Plus its 50 watts, and trust me, that's loud!
