Ill give it a try "original song"

First time posting a recording.  I used an old small gibson flattop my dad gave me years ago, an m audio usb interface, condensor mic and cubase to mix it.  Sounds muddy to me, maybe i just have to keep working at it, or maybe its just the background noise.   Comments, critiques and advice are definately welcomed.

Sounds great to me, Joe. Damn good start for a first posting.  8)

Sounds pretty clear even through my desktop speakers. Is that an Auto-Wah?

Thanks guys, i do appreciate it.  I wish i could finish a project and like it as much as i thought i would when i started it heh.  For me recording can be very frustrating, back in the day we paid other people to do that part for us  :)   still an awesome outlet though.

Hagar, i don't have a soundclick page, is that a better option to the Box thing i uploaded to? I used box.net because i had seen others using it.

Pictoratus, If you are talking about the lead part, it was actually a rotary effect built into cubase, i put it on the dry track after the fact.

Awesome...You're far too modest, but I admire that in a musician! Very easy to listen to all around.

I didn't find it muddy at all. The guitar signal might have been a little too hot though. Try rolling off a just a touch of gain next time maybe?

My experience is you need to listen to the recordings through quality headphones.  Desktop speakers don't offer the quality of sound necessary to really "hear" the song.  This song is an excellent composition of vocals and guitars.  Sure hope there are more like this coming from you.  Perhaps creating a Youtube video of this while posting others will help market your skill as a musician.

Wow, that is fantastic!

Your voice reminds me Robert Plant.

By the way, SoundCloud is another popular place to put mp3s. http://soundcloud.com/

Voice + guitar in counterpoint like are wonderfull
Great guitar technic
Open E tuning?

Thanks guys, your too kind for sure..
Robert, I wish my wife thought i sounded like Robert Plant, maybe i would get to practice more lol.  To bluefingers, i think its an open D tuning, i dropped the e to d and then just tune the lower strings by ear until it sounds like a nice open chord, and i just use my thumb and fingers. Unfortunately, I know very little about music, but that song was written by just noodling around with that tuning.  And detroit, it would take me a month to make a video with all the mistakes i make haha, thats what i like about recording :)      thanks guys...
