times like this my mom woulda shown me that article and said something like "you know, i bet she seemed completely normal before that". then just walk away.

well, just for the purpose of clarity, my previous post wasn't making fun of a terrible tragedy,  more like me remembering how my own mother would have used that sort of thing to subtly remind me not to push her too far.

the paddle or belt was always too near to push my parents, so much so that I think us kids were actually a bit to afraid to speak to them

oh my parents used those methods quite frequently, along with more...creative forms of capital punishment.  but i was the kid who was always testing the boundries.
