Got my strat back after I flubbed the wiring.  Absence does make the heart grow fonder.  It was only gone for a few days, but that geetar plays and sounds fantastic.  And with the new pick guard its like a new (kind of) guitar.  My wife hates the mint.  I love it.  She wishes I was in an eighties cover band instead of what I do.  Oh well.

Sorry, but I'm with your wife on this one. I hate the mint PG's, too.

So the players strat has a button that allows more pup combos.  I've tried gluing it on the new pick guard a couple times and am having trouble. Yesterday I tried again with super glue that for some reason will not bond the button to the guard.  However, it did glue the button in the down position and its completely stuck.  GRRRR.  I'll have to buy a new button.  I'm thinking a mini toggle that I can screw on with nuts and a washer.  I don't think it will look as clean but what am I gonna do?

Here's where I get my stuff from, (http://www.mcmelectronics.com/ ), punch in part number 20-4488. Thats a glue by SureHold and it's specifically for plastics. I use it all the time, and it works. It's about $3 or so.

I had a deluxe players strats (or actually the one before the noiseless pups). I changed for a parchment guard. Then the middle tone knob was wired to be master tone and the other would turn to make the pickups gradually more in series, and lifting it would allow even more options, by turning on the neck pickup (or was the bridge I forget). Anyway, loved the setup. Now only have the master tone and the other tone works to gradually turn on the neck pickup... a good simple thing, works great.

Yep.  The parchment is a nice compromise between a new-looking white and the vintage mint green pickguards.  I like those alot.  I have seen a 62 sunburst reissue that looked nice with a green guard though.
