Hillbilly Joe and wife are fine

Thank you everyone here for your thoughts.  We were affected by the Tsunami but this happen during the late hours. I now just woke up so I don't know about any damage to the port/area and airport where we live. Japan now had another quake on the Sea of Japan side (China side) not related but big. Tsunami watches are still ongoing.

This is a Japanese page, but in English:http://photo.sankei.jp.msn.com/kodawari/data/2011/03/0311earthquake-gaiden2/0311earthquake-gaiden2/

As you may have heard, there was damage to the nuclear power plant. Last night they evacuated the area, this morning my wife says it is now leaking, also last night they were not able to get the cooling system to work (possible meltdown) very very bad news. But this is Japan and free press is very limited on these issues.

The quake and Tsunami damage is beyond belief. Just now on TV , the port where they export thousands of cars has been damage (Tsunami) and the cars are all tossed around and are on fire.

We are still on alert for aftershocks and Tsunami. Damn It's not good in these neck of woods.

I'll keep you all posted

Japan is still shaken, you just can't believe the damage. We get the local news of course which is not probably broadcasted internationally.  It's bad, people

Thanks guys. My wife is really all shook up and needed to drink a bit of sake to calm her nerves. Right now another tsunami warning has been issued. A 2 meter high wave is expected in the area effected. We live far away from the area but are still affected by the tsunamis.  Things are really bad here where the quake and tsunami and nuclear power plants are

yesterday was really tense here as well.  glad to hear you are ok! we had been worried about the wife's family in osaka, but it turns out they have no damage at all.
the fukushima plant exploded , but no word yet on how bad things are.  my heart goes out to japan.
i hope the world will respond to them like they did with haiti, myanmar, new orleans, new zealand, etc.  God have mercy on them

Anyone heard more from Joe? I guess with the rolling blackouts and everything else we may not hear from him for a while. Does anyone know what area he is in exactly?

Hi guys. Just updating. We are about 2 hours out of Hiroshima. So we are not any way near the quake area.
Today there are still about 24000 people stranded on rooftops everywhere. Just in on county 10000 people died. They are pulling dead people out of the using nets and over 1000 a day. As of writing this another blast on reactor 3. Seven injured. They are now telling the rain is radioactive. Stay out of it. They will have electricity shut downs starting today in Tokyo.

here is a link:

They are also closing down all car manufacturing plants. Talk about people getting gray hair fast.

Well the link I posted here I think is in English and it is updated like almost every hour

Joe - Sorry I missed you on chat. For some reason I have to log into chat on the main Dolphinstreet page before it works for me.

Glad to hear you are generally out of harms way. Let us know if there is anything you need...OK?
