I tried a Revalver demo a while back, I think it was III. It was pretty decent.

I've got a copy of Amplitube that came with my Mustang amp that I don't use since I can dial in just about any sound with the amp itself.

There are so many combination possibilities in Revalver III that it is almost overwhelming. Also, the pricing seems somewhat expensive to me ($299), although certainly cheaper than owning all the hardware. Might be useful to studios, cover bands, etc. I think Peavey is going to have a limited market for this software.

The Revalver HP version is going for around $70 and is much simpler. There are so many decent modeling amps out there at bargain prices.

I've heard the Mustang line from Fender.  Those are some of the best amps flying off the shelves and with its own editing software, it is one of the best tools a guitarist would need for home/studio work.

Never tried Revalver yet. I am pretty happy with my Line 6 stuff.

A friend of mine recently purchased an Ipad for the intent to use some of the different amp modeling software out there.  He found the new Peavey stuff is better than anything else he's tried.  The amp kit sounds better than anything else he's used and the software is rather unique because you pay for specific amps and pedals or setups (combination of both) for a few dollars each.  It helps reduce all the excess features we see on multieffect pedals with many effect/amp/cab types we don't use.  It allows for a professional, gig worthy sound quality, that's easier to use because it only contains what you asked for and nothing more.
