Clip-on tuner
« on: April 23, 2011, 08:01:49 PM »
I need a clip-on tuner primarily for use on my acoustic guitar. I have never had one of these, so I would appreciate some feedback from the forum. There are so many choices out there, and I am not familiar with the pros & cons of different models. Cost is a major issue for me right now. I have seen some great buys on Ebay, but not sure about the quality. I don't want to buy junk, but can't really afford a $40-$70 tuner either.

I don't use 'em as I don't play acoustic guitar, but I'd figured I'd look around and I found a couple- http://backstage.musiciansfriend.com/Accessories/Practice-Performance-Aids/Tuners-Metronomes/Tuners/Clip-On-Chromatic-Guitar-Tuner.site1prodH65651.product or maybe http://backstage.musiciansfriend.com/Accessories/Practice-Performance-Aids/Tuners-Metronomes/Tuners/Chromatic-Headstock-Tuner.site1sku501781000000000.sku just to name a few. Unfortunely, I'm unable to comment on any of 'em. But, the good thing is, they're affordable. If it craps out (heaven forbid) you won't be out too much dough and you can rebound without any major problems.

A friend of mine uses on of those.  My only concern with clip on tuners is the lasting impression they'll leave on the headstock.  I would suspect after staying on the guitar too long, it might start to indent into the wood....
