'Amazing Grace' and one of Robert's backing tracks
« on: August 04, 2011, 09:18:07 PM »
i alluded awhile back in another thread to snatching a 'used' Musician's Friend amp i had wanted a long time. it's a THD Univalve....playing with it tonight, i got 'this'-Epi LP,  Boss distortion, Boss PH-3,Boss DD7 into Univalve and VHT Special 6 (fake stereo from the DD7 outputs-VHT placed at 'echo' angle out of phase):

thanks, guys. i've always heard 'change amps, change guitars and it'll change your technique'. i still sound like me, even when i change pickups, but the THD is about to cause me to send the VHT back, i think.

thanks, pic!

i was thinking about this yesterday as i was listening to it again (trying to figure out if amazing grace has copyright-if it is public license now, i will post this thing over to soundclick).  i was trying to get a 'bagpipe' sound...and what i got was this phased delay...and i liked it :)

a friend of mine says 'you have to do something about THAT VOICE!!!'.

i tell her, 'one does the best one can with what one has. what have YOU DONE TODAY?'....and she changes the subject.

thanks, guys!  i just sent a few 'understanding friends' (who know me well enough to know, i have no-none-nada- shame...) the following link:

http://www.box.net/shared/80r0x9h3b69c01h4gieh

i said in the email:

"if, as a guitarist, you live long enough, you have some cheap whisky and cola, and then play guitar, you will...eventually, if not often....embarrass yourself. if you have some more cheap whisky, you will send evidence of your faux pas to your friends on email...Sick smile"

Robert, if you wish to delete this travesty, since it is not Canadian whisky i am drinking...i understand :)  perhaps Canadian would've helped?
