I change my strings ever month or so.  I play a lot, but not for long periods at a time.  For acoustics, I swear by Cleartones.  As for Electrics, I've chosen GHS because they are the cheapest and made right here in Michigan.... Their tone is good and so far I like them.  Dean Markley's are my usual choice prior.  I've been through D'addario and Ernie Ball.  Neither appeal to me.

What's your take on DR strings? I've been using those for the last eight years. I may go to other brands at times based on whats availible.

I played DR strings and I also like them as well.  But for some reason their prices went up and I didn't think it was worth the difference.  The only string I will not go back to would probably be Ernie Ball...

My old amp when to the old amp home.
I have found a Fender Super Champ XD Vintage all tube 15 watt.
Can someone tell me about this amp?
Thanks a lot guys.
Gerry
I can tell you this, whether it matters or not.....the Fender Super Champ XD is not an "all tube amp". Also, what DetroitBlues says regarding speaker size is very true. The sound of the utility grade 12" is far better than a utility grade 10". Peavey also makes modeling amps in various sizes...the Vypyr series. I have one of those and, while modeling amps do have their place, I find myself going back to the true tube amps. Blackstar makes some reasonably priced smaller wattage all tube amps in their HT series. Lots of demos on youtube of them.

AND yes, He who dies with the most toys WINS ;)

I've got an all tube Epi Valve Jr. head with a mod kit on the way to add few options to really spice it up.

I'll go from a 3 way voicing switch (Top Boost, 2nd is American Blackface, 3rd being British)
Add Reverb
Add Duo Control which has a Tweed to Fat Boost mod with a push/pull pot

$96 for it all.

Epiphone makes one now, but it cost's about $100 more than what this is costing me.
