when i am driving anywhere more than 2 miles to play (and EVERYWHERE is more than 2 miles from here), i take it. that and a 12" cab, with a guitar, and i'm good to go.

at the price they go for, i wouldn't sit with a soldering gun to try to make an amp, unless i had nothing else to do.

You can make a pocket amp for about $20 from parts at Radio Shack.  I have a 2"x3" box in my desk that will fit a micro amp I've been wanting to build, such as this Ruby...
