they're wonderful when they work. when they don't work...well. cussing is not enough...:)

was it the drive? i had a couple drives die, so i bought a windows xp source disc finally. hard drives are not all that hard, in real life, but i guess it wouldn't sound right to call them 'soft drives' or 'weak drives'. i think i have two drives that were corrupted...i stuck them in an old tower, hooked them up to the mother and used some drive wiper program to dump the data. i think they are at my old house, with the tower still plugged in. wonder if the drives burnt out? :)

it's all about maintenance.  if i told you of the computer i have,  and what it does, trouble free, you might not even believe me.

Ahh, I remember that. Then I got a Mac, and all those problems are gone.... not to be a jerk, but it's very true for me. Windows was always trouble, but my Mac is fast, clean, virus-free, and just plain works all the time as it should. It costs more than a PC, but oh so worth it! Just sayin'... that's my experience.

It seems to be a lot of peoples experience too. And a lot of the guitarists into recording comment how much easier that is with a Mac. I have noticed if you look at sites of places hat sell Windows PCs set up to do music / recording properly they are at about the Mac price - that maybe tells us windows users something about why we struggle!
