A little Holiday jam

Ok, so it really doesn't have anything to do with the holiday but I did record it today.  ;D

I like what you've done with this backing track. Fluidly played.

The backing track you used has a resonance for me - the first recording ever that I posted up to an internet forum / soundclick was with this BT. I still remember the nervousness with which I posted it.  'Clapped Out' it was called - Christmas 2 years ago - Must be a Christmas feel to the BT in some way!

FWIW I had an updated shot at it a few months ago:-

Interesting that although our tones are quite different a lot of the melodic ideas are not did-similar.

i can hear 'Blue Christmas' tones in that BT.

well done, pic! very smooth and even.

possible wording....needs some work, but....

'awww, babaaayyy! you said you'd come home for Christmas, but your picture was all i got-collect, pasted to a brick....of you and that jerk in the 3 piece suit that looks like rod blagovitch....' :)

Thanks Mark.

I really dig your improv on this backer. Lots of soul in that one.  :)

Thank for the kudos, bluez2move. That tone is close to what I am eternally searching for.  ;D

You've given me an idea, reb (watch out, I'm dangerous when I get ideas ... hehe). How about a group song where everyone adds their bit as far as guitar, bass, vocals, etc. Don't know if it would work but it would be fun!  8)

it would, pic. january is a long month weatherwise. right now, i've got the remains of the christmas influenza-vocals are likely out for me...but i could do harmonica if the paste up is in g or c, or maybe some faux bass guitar.

Glad you like it, guys.

Hey reb, if you or anyone else wants to add a little something be my guest. Be interesting to see what could come from it.

pic, i would have to figure out how to track it, and then add to it...

at the moment, i'm still fighting the flu, and can't make my brain work at 'sub normal level'.

Sounds nice and tight. I like the feeling of dancing in a field of flowers with your loved one. So many memories come to my spirit of days longs gone by on your tune.

I got it off a now defunct, I think, site called bluesjamtracks. They had several free tracks in the style of different artists. THis one was done by Jerry Donahue.

I put it up on Box here

Many many thanks Pic! That tune's a inspiring foundation for creativity. I kinda feel like a lead part is a "song within a song" in a way. I've already got a rhythm part for it with "fills".
