Yap... alreday bookmarked that tubemeister from Hughes & Kettner in my favourite links. A lil bit more expensive than the Ibanez but seems to be really good. Any good cabinet 2x12 which is affordble and good sounding fitting that amp?

I think cabs & speakers are a hard one to put a handle on, you need to try a few out at your local shop if possible.
I went through around four 12" speakers before I settled on the ones I really liked for my amp.
I think the Avatar cabs are pretty good but others would have more suggestions.
Or a secondhand one is a good option, I picked an old 1x12 Marshall cab off a local muso loaded with Celestion speaker for $70.

have about 4 eminence, 1 jensen jet tornado and a jensen/eminence in a 1/10" and 1/12" cab.  4 of the cabs are homebuilt, one is an epiphone and one is factory can't remember. the different amps i have like different speakers. you can try the eminence and jensen websites, but i don't recall them telling which amp is hooked to which speaker. there is also a youtube video by rivera that compares some speakers 'raw' (in the same enclosure).

the only thing i can tell you is that you will either have to play some selected choices, or 'git one, go with it'.

You're not mistaken MLJ, I screw up all the time when I attempt to type. I guess I was thinkin' about the wattage (15watts) when I posted. Anyway, the 1 watt setting is rather loud for 1 watt, but that's not a problem. Didn't expect it until Monday, but who's complaining? Definitely not me. One of these days, I'd like to see a Eminence Cannabis Rex goin' in there though. No rush of course.

zag, when eminence says the rex smooths out highs, i think it actually dips the highs, and brings up the mid range. the rex is in my 10/12 cab, i think.

Well Reb, the Cub 12R is a tad short on the lower side, so I'd like to put something that'll bring it up some without effecting what's already there. This baby's definately a keeper. The Cannabis Rex, the Private Jack, and Celestion's G12-50GL Lynchback were just a few I was checkin' out, 'cause like the Celestion Rocket 50 that comes in this amp, they're all rated at 50 watts. All of the above mentioned speakers have much better low end response compared to the Rocket 50.

To my ear, almost anything sounds better than a Rocket 50 :(
Restricting yourself to 50 watts serves no real purpose here. Choose a speaker with a high sensitivity (XXdb/watt/meter) and as long as the wattage rating is equal to or greater than 1.5X that of the amp's output, it will be fine. The better Celestions have 100db/watt/m.

I'm aware of the SPL/dB stuff, but all I want is better bass. Besides, the Eminence Cannabis Rex is 102 compared to the Celestion Rocket's 95 (Hell, the magnet looks like it'd be at home on the back of an 8" speaker). The wider frequency range of the Rex is an improvement as well. I'm stickin' wit 50 'cause I'm cool with it. But that's just me.

Has anyone seen the new Fender Superchamp X2 amp yet?  I used to have the XD, but now that they made the X2 into a head amp, I can't wait to try it out on a 2x12 or 4x12 cab!

I've caught a glimpse of one of those Superchamp X2 amps. Is the only difference between those and the previous XD version (Other than being available in head form) is the addition of a USB port?

Seems to be.  While the USB doesn't mean anything.  But the making it a head cab is a great idea to me.  Problem with the old one for me was the 1x10 wasn't enough and you couldn't run an extension cab with the internal speaker at the same time....

The only point I was making is that the 50 watt spec is totally irrelevant (other than being more than 1.5X the amp's wattage). Using the stipulation of 50 watts may rule out other speakers which you may really like. Using the other criteria, especially the sound to your ears, is what is meaningful.
