Hello there all

My name is Dan and I'm just saying hello. I'm from CT in the US and have been following Roberts videos on youtube for some time and just now got around to joining this form. I'm a bass player turned guitar player recently so have some knowledge of music and theory but still need a lot of practice on guitar. Nice to meet you all.

Thanks for being so nice all of you. I like rock/blues/metal/prog rock mostly. Back in the day I used to burn the midnight oil learning all the bass lines to "Yes" songs and played in tons of rock bands playing Zeppelin and Hendrix with my brothers and other. I'm old enough to remember the Beatles on Ed Sullivan and Jimi on Cavett. I do like some country chicken picking which can sound amazing by the right person for one example Billy Penn. Johnny Hyland is also pretty rocking no matter what he plays :)

I've recently gone and bought all of Leslie West and Mountain albums on cd. Man I've forgotten how great and simple those songs were. Lots of pentatonic stuff but his tone was killer. Easy and fun to play.

Yeah, Leslie West is great. I had a couple of 8-track tapes of Mountain I just about wore out back in the day.
