I'm returning the Jet City in exchange for the Valveking 112.  I may regret it, but I'll make sure I have a warrenty with it so Guitar Center should pay for it to get fixed if this one as the same issue the old one I had goes bad.  Excellant clean and dirty tones on this amp... Cross my fingers on it...

you mention the fender vdec, but not the roland cube or the marshall mg30 fx, the closest competitors.  also, another good amp that fits into that price range is the vox ac4tvh and 1x12 cab.

Superchamp XD is a great amp, I'd wish I'd never traded mine in two months ago.  Played it for years with no issues.  I traded in for a Peavey Valveking that had problems, got a new Bugera V22 that ended up having problems, then went to a Jet City (which didn't have enough clean headroom).  I'm back to another Valveking, but this one has a one year warranty.  Hopefully, I won't need to rely on it.  I'd never been through all this mess if I had just kept my Superchamp.  Its got a ton of great tones, sound great through extension cabinets, and best of all, its reliable!

Fender G-DEC 3 Thirty ($400)   demo'd one in a music store and thought it just OK
Marshall Class 5 ($400)   no experience with this one at all; never even heard one played
Line 6 Spider IV 120 120W ($400) ditto
Blackstar HT-5 Series 5W ($400)  too small for my needs
Peavey Vypyr 100 100W 2x12 ($400) I own a Vypyr 75 watt w/ Sanpera I...lots of good sounds in this amp
Bugera V22 22W 1x12 ($350)   I own one of these and can't get both channels to sound good at the same EQ settings; first one plagued w/ the random switching problem-got a replacement; wouldn't buy this amp again.
Vox Valvetronix VT50 50W 1x12 ($350)   no experience with this one at all; never even heard one played
Peavey Windsor Studio 20W ($400)   ditto
Jet City Amplification JCA2112RC 20W Combo ($400) seems like a good amp, but not enough clean headroom for me.
Which one would you pick if you had 400 bucks and needed to buy one in the store TODAY? This is just for fun... You can't pick any used amps.

I would pick the Bugera because I am curious about one - never tried one yet. The Vox Valvetronix would be 2nd on my list, and 3rd would be the Fender G-DEC 3.
So, guess my vote goes to the Peavey Vypyr.
