Well, gotta admit, that was good for a few laughs!

Think maybe I'll manufacture a line of tooth picks, then outsource 'em to uh........let's say China!

BUT, my Custom Shop line of tooth picks will be made here in th' good ol' USA! Hmmm........

Never heard of First Act before, but those guitars look like something I'd play, especialy at the price of USD50-200. As far as their custom shop, I don't know, here's one article

http://www.premierguitar.com/articles/Builder_Profile_First_Act_Custom_Shop

and wiki; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Act

Looks like it may be more serious than what you may have thought? Again, I have no idea if that is true, or what it is ...

They do look pretty, IMO.

Yeah, I recently found out they had a "custom shop" based in Boston, Massachusetts. They're giving new luthiers a chance to "expand their horizons" so to speak.

But from my perspective, well, th' first time I ever saw these instruments, I saw th' beginner stuff, so I thought "okay, another company makin' stuff (guitars, drums, etc.) for beginners", and that was pretty much the only stuff I saw from them. Up until now, I thought th' best guitar they ever created was that "Garage Master" guitar they were marketing for Volkswagon in 2006! Look it up, it's pretty cool lookin'.

So, you can imagine my reaction to an ad in Reverb.com for a single cut, run of the mill lookin', single pickup guitar that couldn't be more than 30mm thick complete with nicks and stuff and someone askin' $800 for this thing! Naaaaahhh.......I'll pass on that!

More power to First Act, but this dude sellin' THAT guitar.........well, I dunno 'bout that.

I get it. Would not cash out that much, not even close. If hat VW guitar was Ford, I'd go for it.
