Slowing down songs is another great way to learn from records and your song collection. I use Song Surgeon, which works really well for this. Check it out. |
Here is a rock guitar solo I wrote the other day. I used my Hagstrom Swede and Line 6 POD HD500 for the great tones. Although I play mostly blues these days, I used to play a lot of rock stuff in my youth.
Hope you enjoy this lesson - let me know!
By the way, I am making a "Bundle 2" of my most recent free videos on this site. This will be a DVD you can buy to a very reasonable price. I am putting it up on my Download Store within the next few days. Not everyone likes to watch these free lessons on the computer, so this DVD will be handy for many people.

Understanding I-IV-V is an intensive 65 minute video that will give you a crash course on guitar theory. It is not a complete lesson on music theory. Instead, this is the perfect introductory tool to get you started on the guitar, or to reveal the secrets of the fretboard that you are not aware of yet. You will learn why chord numbers are far more important than chord letters, how to write your own songs and chord progressions effortlessly and endlessly, and much more.
I use Guitar Pro for most of my video lessons. It is a great product that will not only show you the notes in both TAB and standard notation, you will also HEAR them being played at the same you see them. Very helpful for learning! Click the link below to try the free demo.
I have lots of gear demos too on this site. Go and take a look at some of my Guitar Videos for some examples of gear I use or have used.
Hi Great site and great lessons.
I really like your playing and your lessons but can I come with a suggestion to make it better?
I tried to follow this lesson, but in the solo part is to fast even in your slow down version and if you could play it more that once maybe 3 or 4 times so we dont have to go back all the time. And even better if you could do it in small pieces instead of the hole solo.
Hope that makes sense?
Thank again for all your work and a great site.
Cheers
Klaus
good lesson dude i m a 57 yo french guy and i liked it

Comment added on July 26, 2011I have the same question as Justin. Do you have any tab for the solo? Even when played slow I can't figure out how to play it. Greetings from the Netherlands
Comment added on July 26, 2011That rocked so hard... I'll never be able to play that. Do you have any tab for the solo?
