Slowing down songs is another great way to learn from records and your song collection. I use Song Surgeon, which works really well for this. Check it out.

Guitar Lesson Overview

Here is a cool little Buddy Guy lick, played over a C. Part of Buddy's style is a intense vibrato, and huge bends. He sometimes plays his guitar without a pick too - pulling the strings up and letting them go so it's almost like a chicken picking effect. The notes slap and pop.

Another part of Buddy Guy's style is "floating in time". He does rarely play straight eight-notes. Instead, he focuses on cool phrases, that will fit in if you play them correctly with good timing. Many of the blues guitar greats do/did that too - floating in time (so to speak - I hope you understand what I mean by that).
