Did you know? My New Website is now live - Master Guitar Academy. Join me there - it's where you can learn with me every week. Both live sessions and new weekly lessons, continually.
Slowing down songs is another great way to learn from records and your song collection. I use Song Surgeon, which works really well for this. Check it out. |
Here is a nice patch I developed on the Line 6 HD500. It's a lead tone inspired by SRV and Philip Sayce. It's using a Blackface Deluxe Reverb model, with some Screamer and Fuzz Face added. Sounds awesome!
I played an old crappy Squier Strat copy on this clip. However, I upgraded the pickups to these sweet sounding 1950's pickups from Porter Pickups. They sound very sweet through the HD500 and of course they sound fantastic in a REAL amp! Give them a try if you are looking for vintage sounding single coils.
You can download the patch here on the CustomTone website.

Understanding I-IV-V is an intensive 65 minute video that will give you a crash course on guitar theory. It is not a complete lesson on music theory. Instead, this is the perfect introductory tool to get you started on the guitar, or to reveal the secrets of the fretboard that you are not aware of yet. You will learn why chord numbers are far more important than chord letters, how to write your own songs and chord progressions effortlessly and endlessly, and much more.
I have lots of gear demos too on this site. Go and take a look at some of my Guitar Videos for some examples of gear I use or have used.
Love the fuzz tone. Keep 'em commin'!!!
