Want to Slow Down Videos to make it easier to learn? |
It has taken me hundreds of hours to produce all the lessons you see here. Support is needed for this to continue. If you are able to, please help the free lessons coming by providing a donation. |
Playing pull-offs and hammer-ons are a huge part of my style of playing. In this lesson, I'm showing a few ideas of how you can use pull-offs to play through the E minor pentatonic scale (in one position). I use this technique all the time when I play.
For me, this technique is so much easier than alternate picking, and I also prefer the sound of using this technique. Alternate picking can sound very robotic at times, and using pull-offs and hammer-ons open up the sound much more, at least to my ears. Plus, I really suck at alternate picking... there you have it!
By the way, I will cover hammer-ons in a future lesson.
I highly recommend you buy Guitar Pro - it's the best software I have found for learning guitar. Many of my lessons come with Guitar Pro files. You can download a trial version on the Guitar Pro website to see if you like it (I think you will).
Understanding I-IV-V is an intensive 65 minute video that will give you a crash course on guitar theory. It is not a complete lesson on music theory. Instead, this is the perfect introductory tool to get you started on the guitar, or to reveal the secrets of the fretboard that you are not aware of yet. You will learn why chord numbers are far more important than chord letters, how to write your own songs and chord progressions effortlessly and endlessly, and much more.
I use Guitar Pro for most of my video lessons. It is a great product that will not only show you the notes in both TAB and standard notation, you will also HEAR them being played at the same you see them. Very helpful for learning! Click the link below to try the free demo.
I have lots of gear demos too on this site. Go and take a look at some of my Guitar Videos for some examples of gear I use or have used.
Nice to see a new clip.........thought your were toast there for a while!
