This guitar was built by my friend Richard Jones, who sadly passed away in 2005.
Richard built very unique looking guitars, and I was lucky to buy the Dorian from him (I traded him a Lab Series L5 and some cash). It has 3 single coils, Evans pickups. This guitar sounds similar to a strat, but it sure has a unique look.
The neck is quite fat and chunky, and the frets are jumbo size. This guitar just makes you want to play blues and/or jazz - it's no metal guitar, that's for sure.
Another model he made was the Blues Baby. I think he made more of those ones, and it had 2 humbuckers. I preferred the sound of the Dorian though.
All the Richard guitars have a semi-hollow body, and it resonates quite well by itself.
All Richard's guitars have Evans pickups. My Dorian has black Evans pickups, and they have vintage sounding feel to them. I love the neck pickup - it gets a very raw bluesy sound, and certain clarity to the tone that I rarely hear in other guitars.
Richard guitar video clip - I recorded some sounds from this cool guitar through my Reverend Hellhound.
