Yamaha F-310 Acoustic Guitar Review

This is an old acoustic guitar of entry level quality. I bought it from a pawn shop for probably too much money. It's been through a lot of smashes and bumps, but it does the job of a campfire song or two.

This Yamaha is not electric-acoustic; in other words, you can't plug it in. You would need a microphone or two, if you wanted to make a decent recording with it.

This guitar would be suitable for a beginner player. I would not recommend it to anyone who is interested in quality guitars. Why? Because it is made out of low quality material. It is very noticeable as far as the frets are concerned. They are quite miserable.

The neck however, is better than expected for a real cheap guitar. My F-310 is very old, but the neck stays straight and no major problems with the guitar. It can be set up with fairly low action and still play okay, which is why I don't completely dismiss the guitar.

In summary, for a cheap guitar that you don't care for if it gets smashed, it's fine. For taking on camping trips, it's fine. For a beginner wanting to get in to playing acoustic guitar while not spending too much dough - it's fine.
