Webcam Guitar Lessons

Do you want to learn guitar from your own home from an experienced guitar teacher? With a webcam and a high speed Internet connection, real guitar lessons from Robert Renman is now a real option.

What you need

How this works is that we schedule a time that works for both of us, you send payment and we connect via Skype. I also send you PDF and/or other files that will help in the teaching process. I have found it works well that I show how to play something via the webcam, and then it's your turn. I listen to you play, and give you specific feedback on this. It's a very interactive process and it's quite a bit of fun!

I often get asked via email how people can take guitar lessons from me. When I tell them that I'm in a small place in Canada, they realize a personal lesson won't happen (unless they are actually from around here, which isn't that likely). So I think this is the 2nd best alternative. We can chat, play and share via the webcam. I send you the notation and backing tracks, and you are getting lots of value for your dollars. If you have any questions regarding the webcam lessons, just contact me.

Topics we can cover

I teach anything from country, pop, rock, blues, jazz and I cover styles such as sweep picking, strumming, alternate picking, legato playing, shredding, tapping. I am very experienced in music theory - scales, chords, harmony and composition.

Suggested topics:

  • World Domination (thanks Trevor)
  • How to use the pentatonic and blues scales
  • Harmonizing scales
  • Chord inversions of common chords
  • Right hand technique - funky, loose wrist
  • Picking techniques
  • Improvising over chord changes
  • Phrasing and playing tasty licks
  • Ear training
  • Anything related to Blues!
  • How get rich and famous playing jazz guitar (bad choice)

If you order more than 1 hour at a time, you get a better price. See below. You can pay for 2 or 3 lessons in advance, just choose the preferred option in the dropdown menu below.

Jonas T. from Sweden:
Robert, jättetack för lektionen, jag fick många värdefulla tips :-)
Kul att se dig!
In English:
Robert, big thanks for the lesson, I got lots of useful tips :-)
Nice to see you!

Hey Robert! Just wanted to say thanks for the great first lesson. I was impressed by how quickly you were able to evaluate my level of playing and how you immediately found specific things ( both practical and theoretical) to improve my playing on the spot. It was a lot to take in, but I'm really excited for the next lesson because the bottom line is that the lesson was clear, creative and most of all fun. See you next time!

"What can I say? Mr. Rob "rotren" Renman is as versatile of a player as anyone can get! I feel like you can ask him about theory, solos, rhythm... anything (especially when it comes to blues and jazz) you have to throw at him and he'll respond to you with great understanding of your needs and shows you beautiful musical ideas and expand on it to make the ideas clear to you. I guarantee anyone who even takes a single lesson will be able to learn a tremendous amount! Thanks Rob!"

"Doing a webcam lesson with Robert is almost as good as being in the same room - and since we live a hemisphere apart, it's lots more practical! Besides being an excellent teacher, he takes the time to prepare beforehand, so when you enter the lesson, you're all ready to go. Works great & can't wait for my next lesson!!"
