We just had a great show at the Bailey Theatre in Camrose. Myra Marshall Band, which consists of Myra Marshall, myself, Brandon Kroeger and John McCune, was the first band to play the Bluesday Tuesday event, which started this week. The Bailey Theatre will have a blues act every Tuesday for a number of months.
We were quite excited about this concert. We practiced quite a bit the last couple of weeks, and it was great fun to go up on such a fine stage, to play some good old and new blues. We were very excited! The audience seemed to really enjoy the music, and as you probably know, it's so much fun when the people listening are into what you are playing. We had a blast.
I used my Suhr Badger 18 for this gig, and I hooked it up to a Traynor 2x12 with Celestion Greenbacks. Coupled with a Fender Road Worn Strat, a great overdrive, and some additional effects, I got a killer tone with this rig. My best strat blues tone to date, although I played two songs with a humbucker guitar (Michael Kelly).
The Bailey Theatre is a fabulous venue in Camrose, and I highly recommend you come and check it out. They have blues music, drama and theatre, movies, roots music, touring artists, special events, and much more happening on a regular basis. It's fantastic theatre - old school vibe venute with top notch modern sound and lighting. Those who get to play on this stage should just considering themselves lucky! Because it is a really, really, really good place to play at (or to come listen to artists).
We are playing at the Bailey Theatre in November again, so if you missed our show this time, come back in November and see us again! We are playing a shorter show at that time, but there will be other great performers for that same night.
