Business in the City of Camrose

In this article, I will tell you a little bit about the city I live in, the City of Camrose. It's a great place to live and work - just the right size with all you need. There are actually two music stores in town, and I teach guitar at one of them.

The city of Camrose is located about 90 kilometres south east from Edmonton, the capital of Alberta. Camrose is a small city of about 17,000 and it continues to grow.

Camrose is located in a transitory region of Alberta, called aspen parkland. The city is a very important economic centre for small farming communities in the surrounding area.

Camrose has three local newspapers; The weekly Camrose Canadian, the weekly Camrose Booster and the small daily publication called Camrose Morning News.

The city has its own local television station, which is mostly used for advertising.

Camrose also has two radio stations, 790 CFCW and CAM-FM. Both stations are owned by Newcap Broadcasting.

Camrose is a great place to do business with business. Here you will find a very dynamic business community which is ready to work with you. Contact the City Of Camrose Economic Development Officer if you have business inquiries.

Looking for a place to eat? Camrose has 52 eating establishments, everything from Sushi to Greek to pub fare and pizza. There is no shortage for hotels and motels either - there are 10 locations for a total of 340 rooms.

The beautiful Mirror Lake winds through the centre of Camrose, complete with a fountain and resident swans. The Battle River is the little creek that flows through the city.

There are total of 308 acres of parks and playgrounds, 18 hole golf course with modern club house and restaurant. You will find 2 indoor ice arenas and an 8-lane curling rink, indoor aquatic centre with waterslide and outdoor spraypark, lighted ball diamonds, lighted football and soccer fields, racquetball courts, tennis courts, bowling lanes, 2 arts/performing arts centres, 2 museums, a full service RV Park and a Casino.

Regarding Educational Facilities, you will find 6 Public Schools, 2 R.C. Separate Schools, 1 County Bi-lingual School, 2 Bible Colleges, 1 University (1000+ students), and 1 Vocational facility for the mentally challenged.

As for the climate, the Mean Summer Temperature is 11.6‚C, and the Mean Winter Temperature is -7.7‚C. The Average Total Precipitation is 16.2"/ 41.1cm.

The County of Camrose has a relatively new Nature Conservation Centre. There you will find rainbow trout at the fishing hole, and you can swim and relax in a beautiful recreation area. 18,400 willows were planted last year and the plan is to eventually use them as bio fuel to heat the County Administration Office.

As should be clear by now, there are many reasons to do business in Camrose. The city provides many opportunities for both individuals and businesses.
