The Line 6 AMPLIFi FX100 is a small but powerful floor board, using the AMPLIFi technology. It provides a quick and fun way to get a great tone.
The tone matching feature is quite useful. You can dial up good guitar tones very easily. You can connect the AMPLIFi FX100 to your guitar amp or speaker system, or both.
I quite like how it sounds into a tube amp. I'm running the main outs into my home stereo or PA, and the amp out to my tube amp. Very easy to use, and it's very fast to find a good tone.
The tone matching feature is very nice when you are jamming to tracks in your iTunes library. The technology suggests tones from the cloud, and it's a fun way to discover new tones. These tones will usually fit well for the tune in question. From there, you can quickly tweak the tone as need, and save it either in the cloud or as a preset in the unit.
I am liking it more than I thought I would! I am giving it a 9 out of 10. The motivation for this high rating is: relatively inexpensive, powerful, easy to use and small.
You won't need any external pedals with this unit! Just run it straight into a tube amp or in the effects loop of an amp, and have fun with it.
