Scuffham S-Gear Review

Using plugins and digital technology for guitar tone has been so-so for quite some time, in my opinion. I have used a variety of amp and effect packages from different vendors, and recently, I tried a product called Scuffham S-Gear.

A lot of guitar plugin packages out there are actually quite good, and they are all extremely flexible and provide a high degree of customization. However, it's that realistic guitar tone we all seek, and Scuffham S-Gear delivers, in this regard, in spades.

I'll cut to the chase. The Scuffham plugin sounds incredibly good! But more importantly perhaps - the tones you get have a very realistic feel. It feels like you are playing a real amp, or at least very close to the real thing. As a guitarist who have been playing for over 30 years, I automatically react to small nuances in tone and feel, and that's why Scuffham S-Gear stands out for me. It's a joy to play with this plugin.

It's also very simple to use, and dialling in a good tone is very easy and quick. It may not have the same amount of effects and flexibility in amp models as their competitors, but the TONE is better (in my humble opinion). And, the tone is what we are all after I think, isn't it!

Another good thing is that it's not very expensive. It's only $99.00 - quite a bargain for getting a plugin that delivers great guitar tones, and is easy to use. What's not to like?
