Transcribe - great tool for transcribing music

The Transcribe! program is a form of assistant for people who are interested in working the detail from a piece of music from a recording. The purpose would be to write it out, or play it themselves, or both.

This program doesn't do the transcribing for you, but it is essentially a specialized player program which is optimized for the purpose of transcription. It has many transcription-specific features not found on conventional music players.

It is also used by many people for play-along practice. It can change pitch and speed instantly, and you can store and recall any number of named loops.

Give it a try - Buy Transcribe! for Linux, Windows and Mac.

I found out about this tool from one of my students. He said he found it to be best value of all the similar programs he had tried.

It is an incredible value for the price, because it can do so much, and it so powerful.

Dweezil Zappa, from a Guitar Player Magazine interview:
"How do you learn [Frank's] tunes for the set? Do you read, or do you figure them out by ear?" "I'm not a good reader so I just listen. We use Seventh String's Transcribe! software to slow things down."
