My favorite strings are Dean Markley's vintage series. Really cool strings, but they seem to go dead fast.
(For electrics). But when Guitar Center has a Ernie Ball sale with strings at $3 a set, I have to make the switch.
For my acoustic, I absolutely love the Cleartones. Very loud strings that make my Ibanez sound like a $2,000 guitar. (I played it against my friends Gibson Songwriter Deluxe. Everyone thought my guitar sounded better!)

I use DR "True Blues" strings mostly.
-
I use D'addario 10-46
-
D'Darrios 10-46.
love em.. last long...outstanding sound on my electrics
-
I like ernie ball strings because they cost the least amount of money and they last for about 6 months on and electric.
For my acoustic, I buy fender, but they are used for electric guitars but I put them on my acoustic anyway. They really don't last that long because of the climate here.
-
D'addario 10-46 on my Peavey.
On my Squier I've got some no name 9s I got off eBay cheap. I'll probably either go back to Ernie Ball which is what I had on it before or get some strings from GFS. I've heard they are pretty decent and the price is good.
-
electric guitar string brand... never cared what brand I use. Now down to 009-042 or 009-046 mostly. Although my tele has 009-052. I just want to be able to do the country bends!
My ugitars now have D'Addario and Rotosound, the cheapest to me right now.
-
I use Fender Superbullets 10-46 on my strat. Still testing different brands for my acoustic.
-
i like gibson vintage re-issue #9's. i can never find them here in toronto, so i just buy the d'addario 9's that everyone carries here. they're ok, but not really what i want.
-
Ernie Ball Power Slinky 11/48 on all my electric guitars
Martin bronze 13/56 on the electro acoustic Takamine
-
I use D'addario 10-46
Me too 8)

Dean Markley Blue Steels. I got the bass ones before, and I really liked them, so when I got a guitar, I thought I would give the guitar version strings a try, and I really like them too. They just have that "gutsy" tone I was looking for in a blues guitar.
-
I have grown accustomed to Dean Markley's Blue Steel custom lights. I always thought they did sound different.
Just bought a pack of Elixir strings to try out the other week. Wow, they really feel like no other strings I've ever played! The only way I can explain it is that they feel like a set of flat wound strings. They're coated with some type of goretex plastic or something and it is supposed to keep the strings clean and longer lasting. Although the tone doesn't seem that much to brag about in my opinion they do play very well.

Has anyone tried the new Ernie Ball Hybrid sets? (Bottom half of 10's, upper half of 9's or the Bottom half of 11's and upper half of 10's)

I haven't tried them but I've got a couple of sets of no name strings I bought cheap off eBay that are 010, 013, 017, 030, 042, 052
I have tried some of the same brand Super Lights (9s) but haven't tried these yet.
-
I use D addarios 10s. I use em cause they come in 10 packs for 40 bux. I'd like to try other strings out of curiosity, but don't really wanna spend the extra cash.
Don't the "pure" nickel strings still have steel unwound strings?
-
I use Elixir strings. A little pricey, but they last a long time. I started using them when I lived in Florida. I was near the water on Tampa Bay, and other strings just didn't last due to the humid environment. I know some players don't like Elixirs and claim they are not as responsive as other strings, but that has not been a problem for me.
-
I also have some Alice light gauge too. I haven't the need to try them yet. Anyone heard of them, let alone tried them?
-
I just watched a very enlightening demonstration of 11s vs 8s. I won't ever be buying heavy strings unless the guitar requires them.
-
You must have watched Rob Chapman do his little review of the two. As he mentioned, the tone only makes a difference when you're playing clean. (Which he didn't do)
-
You can't beat Elixir's for comfort...feel "played-in" right out of the box and last such a long time.
-
I know that BB King and some other artists use custom gauges. I wish someone made a set where as the unwound strings are from 11's and the wound strings are from 10's. I like the beefer tone of the 11's on the E, B, & G, but not on the low strings.
-
I've used DR strings for years, lately Pure Blues 10-46. I always top wrap on hardtails, so I am interested to see the difference in tone and feel with trying 11's, gonna have a try in the new year.

Since the scale is shorter on a Les Paul, 11's feel more like 10's on a strat.

Only Strat type guitar I've played was a Jackson with a Floyd Rose, I think 11's would have bust the thing, never again ! My Eggle has a great locking trem by Wilkinson, pull it up trem, let it fall back into place locked out. Total tuning stability. But I digress, er, I forgot what I'm on about !
-
guitars with the floyd rose are hardly ever used for bending because it wacks out the tuning of the other strings (until the string is unbent). Many guitars of that type are tuned down and need heavier gauge strings.
