Those types of "fill ins" as I call them, seem to always sound real good on Strats. I like that "soulful" type of style anyway.

I believe Jimi developed this style of playing on the southern Rythm and Blues circuit, playing with Little Richard, Curtis Mayfield, the Isley Brothers, and so on.  Maybe the guitarist had to fill a lot of space in these bands.

Absolutely correct Retro51. A lot of the 60's R&B bands had horns and keys, but only one guitar. Riffs were more melodic, less "hot licks".

The mellow riffs are what I like most about Hendrix. Like a window into the mellow side of his soul.

Great lesson Robert.
What about the rest of the song?  8)

Your video lessons really stands out compared to most of the others you can find on the net.
First of all both the sound and the video quality is just perfect, evn on full screen, execelent.

But maybe the most important part, the way you are showing us how to play it, is so clear, not to forget the carm way you are talking. Way the best lessons on the Internet, cup up the good job.

Thanks Klaus, I do not teach complete songs at this time, because of copyright issues. Also, teaching a whole song would be a lot of work, and I would only do that if I could sell the lesson - I can not work for free. The lessons I give away for free are little pieces of hopefully useful information, and my hope is that the word gets around, and that people buy my lesson products after they have discovered what I do.

Thanks!

I like these tid bit ideas, helps promote making a song your own and not sound like an exact recording...
