That head sounds awsome, and you were very inspired improvising
That's often the case, playing on a really good rig
Thanks

I didn't know Armor cable, and  I don't doubt it's good and transmit the integrity of your guitar signal to your amp
Mine is Sommer XXL, bought by meters and home soldered
Good tone enough, but not very flexible...
Let's see how it will turn by the time...

Yes, your tone is great
Your Suhr Strat on the JVM (combo, head type?) has the overdrived tone I'm looking for
I'm not able to find your video but I remember your quite distortion tone picking hard and the clean tone picking softly on the last chord
that's the overdriven tone I want for my sound!

Thanks Robert

Miscellaneous Gear / Armor cable Robert's demo

Hi Robert
I don't know if I post on the right place...
I heard your Armor cable demo on your Dolphinstreet site
I love your tone (and your playing too...)
Could you tell me what's your gear setting (save the cable) to get this nice overdriven sound?
Thanks

Miscellaneous Gear / How do you adjust your pickup height?
« on: January 23, 2011, 09:53:56 AM »
How do you adjust your pickup height?
I mean the mini/maxi fork from the pup upper pole to the string (under) fretting the last fret
Far from the strings, thin sound but easy intonation set up (equal on each pup selection)
Close to the strings, big sound but difficult intonation set up (different on each pup selection)
The reason: magnetic influence on the strings vibrations
Fender gives a base measure for their different pups type and specifies to first adjust the height pickup (less or more according to the sound you want) and after adjust the intonation
Even doing that, the intonation is different on any pick up selected
I don't understand why
Let me know your thoughts

Very good lesson, Robert, as always
Many Blues players play this riff, but the best, for me, is Jimi Hendrix on Voodoo Chile from Electric Ladyland
When I listen to that incredible piece, I'm at the mass
Atheist swear!

Electric Guitars / Guitar maker

Hi everybody
You like to look at pretty guitars?
I know, you'd surely want to play them
That would be possible... being in France...

Here is the link for a talented guitar maker site (in french)
I'm not interested in his business at all... even I am admiring his work
He is, too, a pretty good Blues guitar player

Thanks GreyBee
I thought it was something like that but I wasn't sure
I'm still note sure to understand well and I try some reflexions
Those members with zero post on the site, are just here to make a link with their deal?
For example, this week, I'm trying to fix an 30 years old car and I searched informations on the net
I found a forum dedicated to this car
I found also a link who drived me into a porno site
That's a spam?
A link who has nothing to see with your dedicated forum?
Question:
If me, internet newbie, found this link, why administrators don't remove and delete it?
I didn't find anything like that on Dolphin Street Forum
You finded it and I trust you
Another question
May I gave a link to the musicians community on the forum of a little french guitar maker site?
He makes guitars by passion, but he also try to eat from his passion
Will his link be considered like spam? (I think no) or advertising?
I'm not concerned at all on his business, and I thought his production could interess some guitar players in this forum
Give me your thoughts and Robert the administrator at first
