Guitar Talk In General / Canīt Wait

Four years ago I moved from Denmark to New Zealand. When I moved I havent touch a guitar for around 15 years. Long story short, I started playing again after I came to New Zealand but have to buy a new guitar and amp because I left everything back I Denmark.
A couple of days a go I finally got my X to send my old guitar to New Zealand (I havent got it yet) itīs a Navigator Strat which I bought from new and now it must be 25-30 years old. To people who maybe dont know Navigator guitars, It (was) ESPīs Top of the line guitars. Some people call them ESPīs Custom shop guitars and many people actually think they are better than a real Fender Strat 
So hopefully my old guitar which I havent been playing for nearly 20 years will arive here in NZ next week, thats why I cant wait.
Sorry I just have to share this with you guys.

Recording Studio / Sound Test

Hi all

The last couple of days I have been trying out (very intensive) both Guitar Rig 5 and Amplitube 3.

In both of them I tried to replicate some of David Gilmoreīs sounds but gave up. I ended up trying to make my own sound instead while playing along to Comfortably Numb (to get the feeling for the sound). Im quite happy with the sound but as Im sure you know after some time fidling around you get blind (on your ears  ) so now i have uploaded a sample of the solo part and would be very happy to hear your opinion on the sound (Im not trying to replicate Gilmores rifīs).
I have to say that all ready after mixing it down to the MP3 file it lost quite a lot of the sound I was hearing when I was playing.
But please give it a go and you have to hear it loud

By the way, in my opinion Amplitube 3 is a clear winner.

Introduce Yerself! / Hi from New Zealand

Hi everyone
Im a 57 years Danish guy now living in New Zealand.

I have been playing guitar for about 25 years but had a break for 15 years, I started again 3 years ago which is great.

Im playing Blues, Rock, Funk and Pop and Im mainly plying the lead. I really like to impovise 

I have a Mexican Strat and a Fender De Ville 4x10 and a half year ago I bought a Line 6 Spider Jam mainly for practise and jamming but also for smaller gigs, that is an fantastic little amp.

I found this great website and forum via Youtube and Im looking forward to learn more an interact with other musicians in here 

Any other guitarist from New Zealand here?

Hi Guys
Im new so sorry if this have been asked before, I tried to look it up here but coudnt find the answer.

I constantly read about MIM strats and MIA strats but what is the difference?

Does it simply mean "Made in Mexico" and "Made in America"  (Im guessing here)
