Im doing a trade for some Lawrence noiseless ones. Ill let you know how that works. I have a set of fender vn I like a lot. Im kind of on a noiseless kick right now. The fenders convinced me noiseless arent not as bad as everyone says.

I wonder why the vcxd is differet. I use pedals with my scxd and it sounds great to my ears. Ive done numerous gigs with it.

I saw her somewhat rece tly and was not blown away.

That video you posted is much better. She must have had an off night when I saw her. Maybe using rental amp cause her tone was awful that night.

My guess is that some lower quality practice amps didnt sound very good nomatter what pedal or tweak. Now it seems to have grown into internet verbage. I think any decent amp will "take" pedals

I learned to read in College, but was never very good at it.  Mostly Jazz charts with a single line melody or "head".

Its a great skill if you're gonna be a studio ace, but I haven't used it much since college.  I think learning to read rhythm from standad notation IS really useful though.  I learned a lot about phrasing by tapping out rhythms off a page from soloists I like.  Not quite like actually learning the solo, but it still helps.

Pedals and Effects / New Sparkle Drive

I just got a new Sparkle Drive.  My initial impression is good.  Except the switch malfunctions.  Voodoo Lab has offered to fix it so thats all good.

I like it a lot.  My quibles are the tone knob doesn't seem to roll off the highs too well and the gain is pretty lo compared to what I'm used to.   Its almost a clean mid boost.  Not quite but kinda. However, its great sounding overall and I have a much higher gain pedal (OCD) so this one does what I need for lower gain settings.   I use my BD 2 for an actual clean boost with almost no gain on it.  I never thought I' have a board with 3 OD pedals, not including channel 2 on my amp, but I like having different sounds available depending on what I feel like.

The thrill left me for 5 years after music school.  I'm now having more fun than ever playing stuff I like instead of "art".  Don't worry....this could be a really good thing.
