American Tele pickups
« on: December 25, 2012, 09:00:45 PM »
Hello, any info on the output and volume of the twisted tele and broadcaster pickups on the American standard and how they compare to the Texas specials on the American special Tele? Thanks.

No idea, sorry!

I use Porter Pickups in several of my guitars, and they rock. www.porterpickups.com

Robert loves his Porter pickups.   The Texas Specials are nice, but only if you have a rounded radius guitar like a 7.25" vintage style.  I've had three strats with Texas Specials.  I replaced them in every guitar... The pickups you're talking about have been produced from Custom Shop guitars.

As DB noted, my frustration with single coil pickups is that many are designed for 7.25" radius. My Peavey strat (Falcon) & tele (Reactor) both have 12" radius necks.

Find a set of pickups with flat pole pieces this time around....
