And , since Epiphone doesn't make a Mockingbird copy, No, I wouldn't get an Epi instead. Nothing against Epis, I had one that I liked (G-310), but as I said, with Rondo's excellent returns policy, and cheap initial cost,  AND the fact that having to upgrade is not a given, (I got an SX  P-bass that doesn't NEED upgrading), all in all an SX can be a much better bargain than even a used Epiphone. Can you return a used Epi if there's something about it you don't like? You can with an SX, even if it's only that you simply don't like the way it sounds, and Rondo will pay the shipping both ways for either a replacement or a refund.

I had that guitar but not the wide model. Very well made and the only problem I had was the nut slot making the nut too high. They didn't quite cut it right so I got my dremel and squared it. Got a great action out of it. The pups were ok but I didn't like 'em so I replaced them with EMG 81-60 plus replaced two pots with EMG EXG and EMG Afterburner. Also I ran them with 18V (two 9V batts).

Had a rocking guitar and played it for over three years til I twisted the neck. I was hard on it but the frets stood up.

I had that SX Mockingbird model but mine was an SX-GG4 so I don't know if they're the same but it does look like it. Mine had ceramic pups and they sounded good so I kept them. Also they said the nut width is 1 5/8" but mine's measured 1 3/4" so I don't know if they gave me a wide model if there was such thing.

The frets were super jumbos and poor at that. I leveled and crowned them making them mediums and I was able to bring the action down where it was almost close but the bridge bottomed on the guitar. After all that it was quite a good playing guitar. It could use better tuners though.

The kid down the street wanted this guitar and bugged me to no end so I sold it to him, duh.

I have an SX tele and love it.  I tried modding it with a new alnico pickup and will be putting the ceramic stock one back in soon.  I thought the alnico would be better, but not in this case.  Its a real player.  Super fat neck.  I have pretty small hands, but somehow this is very comfortable for me.
