Mance Lipscomb - Texas Bluesman

Mance Lipscomb was born near Navasota, Texas. Some musician friends of mine, back in the late '60s, used to go down and visit with Mance occasionally. Check out the Mance Lipscomb Facebook page I created awhile ago...https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mance-Lipscomb/171570836227001

Book: I Say Me for a Parable - The Oral Autobiography of Mance Lipscomb, Texas Bluesman by Mance Lipscomb and Glen Alyn (Sep 1993)

I have read the book, and loved every bit of it. Great insight into the lives of Texas sharecroppers. Black and white sharecroppers both had hard lives. The main difference was that white sharecroppers didn't get hanged as much for their "transgressions" against the boss man.

Hey that's cool! I watched a bit of it and it's great.

He died in 1976.
