y'all ought to take at least the digital edition of 'premier guitar'.....they had another article in addition to these two on a woman who's 'bluesy' but not 'blond and pretty', and i can't find the damn thing in my back issues....the two ladies listed here are solid musicians..first is Carol Kaye. you can see her 'bones' in the wiki article.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wrecking_Crew_%28music%29https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sister_Rosetta_Tharpethere was just an older issue of 'music voyageur' where four nashville songwriters were profiled together. one was a woman who wrote 'mama's prayers'...if that aint blues, i aint heard no blues. i think the woman was blond and at least not ugly, though....

howsomever, none of this is to say that i think the music business is not shallow. the digital recording capability busted their high falutin asses...so now they're a lot poorer, and drive chevy novas...but still shallow as a mudpuddle, most likely.
