Ear Protection
« on: December 06, 2010, 02:27:34 PM »
For those of us with higher wattage amps and a desire to retain our hearing, can anyone recommend some sort of ear protection?  A friend of a friend had some sort of hearing protection that filters out some frequencies/decible levels.  Does anyone know if something like that?

Best thing is to get them custom fitted from a specialist.

That said, I use Earos cheap ones - they do the job okay for me. The sound won't be as good but at least you've got SOME protection and they are cheap, compared to custom fitted ones (they are easy to misplace!).

I went to another rehersal last night and my left ear was screaming when I left.  I damaged my left ear and I really need to get it protected before this Saturday's gig.

They do the job for me. And they are cheap. :)

I just bought a pair of Hearos.  I paid a little more for the special ones they offer.  Supposed to make a difference.  We'll see!
