Best multi effects for under $200
« on: February 07, 2011, 09:21:33 AM »
So what's the best multi-effects pedals under $200?

Boss?  Digitech?  Zoom? Line 6?  What models?  I'm trying to decide on either another multieffects pedal or a few stomp boxes...

I don't know which models, but Zoom has a rep for affordable multi-effect units.

Let's just say I'm in a tone quest for the best price. What sounds the most like the real pedals than the others?

A lightly used Boss GT-3 or GT-5 might be worth a try. I like the ones I have, and with a little tweeking you should be able to dial in your own sounds and save them. The big upside is NO BATTERIES and NO CABLES.

I've been looking at one of those, but I cannot find one that's low enough to buy.  Even used ones on Guitar Center's used gear section are around $300.  (I've found that to be the best place to determine a used piece of gears average price)

They have been going for $270 (used) & up on Ebay (plus shipping).

If you can get your hands on a Boss ME-50 for $200 or less (used) you'll do real good.

My wife is a property manager, after you lock out a tenent they have like 6 months to get their stuff and if they dont come to get it in that time they just trash it or give it to the employees.  She brought home a boss GT6 that does'nt look like it has been abused or anything, just very dusty, however it doesnt have a power adapter so I have no idea how it functions.   I would be willing to give this to anyone who wanted to pay for shipping, as ive never been able to make a multipedal unit sound good to me(my inability to tweak them im sure). But if anyone has the correct power supply it might be worth it to give it a go.

I still have my pocket pod, but I've decided to try out an Angry Fuzz if I can find one!
