The Lucille models are black w/tortoise pickguard and have the varitone (rotary) selector switch, and they have a really nice tailpiece with fine tuners.

I think this is a Limited Edition Dot Deluxe that was offered in this color a few years ago. I've been thinking about replacing the pickguard because I've read that the "E" logo has a tendency to pop off these. Maybe a black/cream/black and matching trussrod cover?

I've heard of that happening a well with the E logo.  But with all that flammed goodness underneath, why hide it?  I'd just take it off and set it aside.

You can replace the guard to preserve it. Scratch the other guard and save the epi. I know it's an archtop but are there chances of scratching the paint while playing without the guard?
