Thanks Hillbilly! I downloaded the trial and will check it out more thoroughly later. It looks interesting and I'd like to hear from other users.

You guys know most of my lessons come with Guitar Pro files, right? All my Premium Lessons have an accompanying Guitar Pro file.

Can someone please explain what this software actually does and how do you use it?

Does it create tablature from sound of music?  Can you print this tablature out?

If I listen to a video of Robert's lesson, does this software somehow create the tab of the lesson and can it be printed?

Thanks. This is such a mystery to me.

Or is Guitar Pro something that just shows the tab on the computer screen and guitar neck?  8)

It plays music that someone wrote in Guitar Pro. You can hear the music, and you can see the music, in both standard notation and tabs. You can print this, yes.

The lesson I sell come with Guitar Pro 6 files. That way, you load the lesson in Guitar Pro and hear and view all the notes, without having to view the video at all. You can then slow down, speed up, transpose, etc the lesson file in Guitar Pro.

For an example of what it can do, see Guitar Pro website, and click on Discover, on the right.

A few years ago I ran across software that would actually tab what you played. I do not remember what it was though.

Once you have GuitarPro, and you need to upgrade, what do they charge for the upgrade? How often are they upgrading this software?

Guitar Pro 6 is updated quite often, a few times per month I think. Once you have payed for it, upgrades to version 6 are free.

What is the difference between Guitar Pro and Tabledit (besides Robert's files).  I have had and used Tabledit for a number of years and it sounds like they do the same thing, but I know the data files are not compatible.
