Joe Bonamassa on PBS
« on: March 20, 2011, 04:34:15 AM »
I saw Joe Bonamassa at Royal Albert Hall on PBS tonight. What an amazing guitarist! It was a great show, except for the fundraising thing, and he did one song with Eric Clapton too.

Were my eyes deceiving me, or does Bonamassa play without a pick?

Cool, Joe is a great player. I think he uses a pick most of the times, but perhaps he doesn't on some songs?

Man, I wish I saw that was on!  I recorded Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King before the Super Bowl was  on.  Another great show except for the fund raiser.... :o

I was at RAH show, a great gig, got all my tickets, programmes ect signed as well ! Joe's a nice guy. He plays with a pick and without. The picks he uses are Jim Dunlops, they're tiny things, I've got a few, but don't really get along with them. He uses 11's as well. Great tone !

On the shorter scale guitars like Gibson, I've found 11's play like 10's on a Strat.

It was a pretty special night ! He worked hard to get there and deserves more recognition than he gets.

Its a shame that his talents aren't showcased on mainstream music audiences...
