Collaboration
« on: May 13, 2011, 03:27:43 PM »
Hey guys, there was mention on a previous thread about some type of collaboration or something along that line. On some sites I've seen, someone will post a backing track or original rhythm type track for members to add their rifts or leads to; the idea being everyone reposts the track with their bit added on to the end of the original.

Another idea would be for people to add different parts such as bass, lead, harmonica, whatever, although I think we're all guitar players here.

Anyone up for this sort of thing?

Update!
I started a new thread for this over here - http://www.dolphinstreet.com/forums/index.php/topic,443.new.html#new

Makes it easier to follow!

I think it's cool to do something like that! Really something to look forward to.

Ok, here's C Minor Blues backing track; kinda Peter Green like. Before you add a lead over the top of it, copy and paste the backing track to the end of the file for the next person.

The rest of you guys jump in also.  8)

Great guys, for getting going on this. So who's gonna add the first take? I can sure do something over this.

How long should the lead be? It might work best to just have one time through the progression, and the leave it open for the next guy? Whatever works, it could be the whole thing too, if someone wants to go nuts! :)

i did this on another forum lat year.  it was an ac/dc forum, so we covered ac/dc songs.  it was fun for everyone except the guy doing the mixing/editing.
 :P

the other idea, with the leads over a jam track i saw done with much success on another forum, although i did not participate that time, because i am currently unable to record.
 :'(
not that there's any correlation between the two.  just random events

Yeah, it is rather lengthy. Once through the progression like Robert suggested is a good idea. Or more ...  ;D
