Anyone remember 20 years ago where a simple little project like this would've been damn near impossible to do.   We would have had to record on a four track, send tapes across the county remix and bump down the tracks with each addition.  We would end up with half the quality in 200 times the amount of time we can do this.
It really is amazing how far everything has come in that amount of time. To think of the resources that young guitar players have at their fingertips is really kind of mind boggling.  I remember subscribing to magazines just to get one or two little lessons a month, because there were no guitar teachers within 50 miles of me. Just playing along to the radio, well trying to play along with the radio and figure out how to play. Now we have backing tracks to practice endlessly to instead of trying to actually find 3 other musicians that can play with and all from our chairs planted in front of our computers. Not to mention wonderfull teachers like robert who put forth their time to help us out.
It makes me wonder if i would have been more or less interested in the guitar if i had had these kind of resources when i started playing, and how much more or less accomplished i would have become..

Either way i am loving it all now..

Hey...it worked!!!!!! I'm in! Now to try it with some music.

Nice guitars, zag! What is the white Tele? That is a sweet looking guitar.  8)

Thanks! That Tele is just a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Blonde Tele. I kinda like the Butterscotch Classic Vibe Tele Squier's comin' out with soon.

Yeah, I hear you, jb

I also think if I would have had all this many, many years ago, it sure would have made it easier or if not easier at least a bit faster to learn.

Man, I really would like to try one of those out. How do the Alnico 3 pickups in that compare to Alnico 5s?

I tell this to my daughter all the time-she wanted to learn a song on guitar the other day-she went to you tube found a guy teaching the song and the track to play along with-learned it in no time-
we would have had to go buy the record---maybe find some sheet music- but probably just play it over and over again to learn it-it would take forever......I feel like i should be adding that we would have to walk to the store in our cardboard shoes.........lol :)

The Alnico 5s are stronger, and sound punchier. In my case, I didn't have the 3s in long enough to make a major comparison, but Alnico 3s are a tad weaker. After trying Fender "Noiseless" pups, I wound up with Seymour Duncans STL-1b and STR-1 pups.
